Two Wellington Speech & Debate students have advanced to the 2022 National Speech & Debate Association’s national tournament this June in Louisville.
In Dramatic Interpretation, Jaiden Lagalo-Blinston placed first overall, while Samuel Johnson took first place in United States Extemporaneous Speaking. Johnson also placed second in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking and sixth in the Congressional Debate House, but is only allowed to compete in one event at the national tournament.
Lagalo-Blinston was also named Florida Oceanfront’s Student of the Year.
