Wellington Speech & Debate enjoyed success at the November 6 PBCFL at Park Vista.
In Novice Dramatic Performance, Anneliese Leclef took first place.
In Novice Public Forum Debate, the team of Emma Gardner & Patrick McDermott went 3-1 and placed fifth overall.
In Oral Interpretation, Paula Currea took sixth place
In Congressional Debate, Ewa Tryniszewski placed first in her chamber and earned a Chamber’s Choice Presiding Office gavel, while David Goldberg finished sixth in his chamber.
In Extemporaneous Speaking, Samuel Johnson placed second and Simran Josan fourth.
Seven Wellington students earned membership in the National Speech & Debate Association Honor Society: Gabriella Alvarez, Paul Currea, Addison Kurz, Anneliese Leclef, Emilia Richards, Hendrix Socha, and Bailen Theriault.
Wellington’s next tournament is the National Civics & Debate Championship in Orlando November 12-14, where 10 Red Dawn Debaters will be competing.
