Wellington Speech & Debate enjoyed great success at the Southeast Florida Civics & Debate Initiative tournament at Dreyfoos School of the Arts Saturday, October 15.
In Oral Interpretation, Hannah Pardo placed first overall, Andreanna Wellington placed second, and Stacy Joseph third.
In Extemporaneous Speaking, Eleanor Myers placed third.
In Congressional Debate, both Jonathan Paul and Patrick McDermott placed first in their chambers, and Brandon Burt third in his chamber.
Wellington earned seven National Speech & Debate Association degrees, including five new members of the largest public speaking honor society in the world. Both Colin Capon and Ava Cassel earned their NSDA Degree of Honor and their team varsity letter, surpassing the 75-point mark. New members, earning the Degree of Merit, were Alexis Aiden, Kai Cartwright, Angelina Greco, Hannah Pardo, and Isabella Parissos.
