Reflections on an extremely exhausting first tournament of the year …
OK, let’s get the basic formalities out of the way … I AM SO VERY PROUD OF EVERYONE WHO WAS INVOLVED WITH TODAY’S TOURNAMENT!
You survived our league’s first-ever virtual debate tournament, despite a multitude of technical snafus (especially from 8-10am, before we switched from the NSDA Campus platform to the 8×8 platform).
You made it through a tournament where you had two-fewer weeks to prepare than past years due to the district schedule, and where I haven’t even met many of you in person a month into the school year.
You succeeded in so many ways that past debaters have not even had to contemplate.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE view today as a success, because despite all the rough spots, I know I do.
